Description:  Fowler's Toads are 2-3 inches long.  Coloration ranges from brown to tan to gray, with various mottling in between.  Fowler's Toads have 3 or more warts in the dark spots on the back, an unspotted chest, no large warts on the tibia, and the parotid gland lays against the ridge located behind the eye.

Habitat:  Adults can be found in a wide range of habitat including forests and open meadows.

Behavior:  Fowler's Toads and American Toads often hybridize, making identification difficult at times.
